Some viruses are more
dangerous to men than women. Men suffer more intense illness and die more frequently from infectious disease
than women. Scientists have hypothesized that a stronger female immune system
explains these differences, but Vincent Jansen and Francisco Ubeda at Royal
Holloway University in London believe that viruses themselves are partly to
blame.
